Peter rested and then began to wander around to find the gate where he came in from. He asked a mouse but his mouth was full and just shook his head, and saw a white cat but didn’t bother it because of what his cousin little Benjamin Bunny told him about cats. He then saw McGregor hoeing onions and saw the gate behind him and Peter darted towards it, McGregor chasing after him again. He saw a scarecrow made of his jacket and shoes to scare the blackbirds.
